08: Human Information Processing of Technological Revolution Within Architecture

Towards the last few decades, the world has unified to move in the same direction due to the advancement in technology. Similarly, in architecture, designers are moving towards the same goals of experimenting with motion and other applications of physics in design. Sustainability being the key driving factor, the end goals are quite clear. A study of how these architectural spectacles are imbibed and reciprocated might help gauge the cognitive and behavioural processes they instigate in the individual.

Focus

Comprehension of the unique spaces formed as a result of technology playing a role in the conceptual, design and construction processes of architecture.

A study of the perceptual, cognitive and behavioral patterns in the human mind as a result of movement, rhythms, combinations and contrasts of spatial characteristics.

Combining the two folds of study to propose theories in the areas of parametric architecture, kinetic and mobile architecture and virtual and augmented reality adultering architectural spaces.

Organic recovery of architectural surfaces.

Aims
  • To visualize the possibilities of design in the future.

  • To associate the interdependence of psychology with architecture in the areas where technology interjects with the human-space interactions.

  • To examine the areas of intersection between architectural psychology and technological psychology.

  • To begin to comprehend the psychological implications of interactive architecture, augmented reality, parametric and kinetics in design.
